AN INOPPORTUNE PROPOSAL. THE SCHEME PREMATURE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Monday. That the regional planning scheme under the ■ Town Planning Act was premature and the expenditure of any money whatever on the proposal unwarranted was the unanimous opinion expressed at the conference of local body representatives. The conference was called by the Mayor to enable the scheme to be discussed. Resolutions were passed approving with one exception the boundaries proposed for the Gisborne regional area but asking that the whole question he deferred indefinitely owing to the economic conditions of the country.
