SECRETARY’S SALARY. INCREASE PROMISED. The committee appointed by, the Hamilton Sigh School Board of Governors to report to the board on the question of an increase in the salary of 'the secretary (Mr R. English) yesterday asked leave of the board to sit. again, as they had not yet obtained the necessary information regarding salaries paid to the secretaries of other schools. The chairman (Mr C. L. 'MacDiarmid) assured the secretary, however, that any increase recommended by the committee would be made retrospective to ' the beginning of the present financial year.
