FIRST IN A.D. 996.
The invention of the first clock is ascribed to Pope Silvester 11., in A.D. 096. The watch came into existence at the end of the 15th. century and the hair spring was added at the end of the 17th. Time-keeping perfection was reached with the production of the Unicorn Watch, obtainable from all good jewellers.
