“ Leave more money in the till next time. Couldn’t open the safe!” This friendly little note was left by a thief who broke into the Cafenet restaurant in Swanson Street, Auckland. All that the thief got in the way of money was a bad penny that looked like a halfcrown and a foreign coin that resembled a threepenny bit. After drinking a bottle of cordial, the thief selected 20 packets of cigarettes and left.
