People are apptffr ently beginning to appreciate tne action of the Council in endeavouring to keep the borough free of rubbish dumps. Draughts Club. An enjoyable time was spent by the local draughts club on Saturday evening when the Australian champion, Mr Penman, paid the club a visit arid played nine, games simultaneouslyiMr Penman congratulated members 1 on, the improved style of play shown andintimated, that he hoped to pay th# club more frequent visits in the future".
