IRISH GRAND PRIX. GERMAN WINS SENIOR EVENT. ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS. united Press Assn. —Elec. T»t Copyright. (Received July 21, 11.0 "a.m.) LONDON, July 20. Heavy showers added to the dangers of the senior Irish Grand Prix, covering 300 miles, at Phoenix Park. Torrential downpours covered the ■wind screens, making the conditions most difficult, and were responsible for many hair-raising skids. One car, going at a terriflo speed, skidded so severely that it turned round four limes. Then, when everyone breathlessly awaited disaster, the car continued on. In the race to half-way there was a duel between the German, Carraociola, driving a Mercedes car, and Captain Birdkin, in a Bently. Eventually the German won the trophy, doing an average speed of 85.88 miles per hour. The Italian, Campri, driving an Alfa Romeo, was second; Earl Howe, in a Mercedes, was third; and Birdkin was fourth.
