A much heralded 11 hunger march ” on Sydney by unemployed men at Cessnock, organised by two prominent Communists was ' begun yesterday. Only six men took part, however. A heavy frost before dawn had made the empty streets particularly uninspiring even to the six enthusiasts and their departure was delayed until the sun had taken' the edge off the atmosphere. A crowd of people saw the men off and some women accompanied them for a mile or so. It is slated that more men will follow' on Monday, when a lorry.may carry their equipment.
