AUCKLAND PRODUCE. Wheat. —-Fowl wheat Is firmer at 7s lid to 8s ex store, following the rise in the South. Merchants are facing a higher oost, and it looks as if the new purchases will have to be sold at 8s Id on arrival. Oats. —Only small quantities are selling,- and the price remains steady at 4s lOd ex store. Chaff- —Dull 'of sale at £lO ex-store for Tasmanian, and £lO 15s for best Southern. . , . Bran and Pollard. —Bran is in moderate demand, with sufficient supplies to meet air calls. In pollard, however, there is either a reduced. demand or too much has been imported, for local stocks have been rather heavily accumulating during the last week or two. • Maize. —The market is established at a lower level, and good quantities of hew grain are being sold to inland centres at 5s 3d on trucks at Bay of Plenty stations. Local distributing trade is mostly in old season’s South African grain, and this is moving off at 6s '6d ex ; store. /New is arriving in small quantities, and is being distributed at about 6s to 6s 2d on the wharf. Potatoes.—Local stocks are only moderate, and this has caused the! price to harden, merchants asking £7 15s ex store which is more on a parity with the firmer tone in Canterbury. A fair . demand has come in for seed potatoes, the weather recently being almost ideal for planting. Onions. —Several small lots have comedn from Pukekohe, but the quality is not reliable,-and they are moving off at 8s 6d wholesale. The same price is asked for Canterbury onions. Fair quantities of Australian are now held here and are quoted at 10s 6d. Fertilisers.—A fair demand is coming for topdressing fertilisers chiefly super from the local mills. Ordinary pastures will begin to receive much heavier treatment next month, and a large output is expected from the mills during the whole of the spring. Poultry.—-Cockerels, | heavy breeds, prime, 6s to 7s 6d each; not prime, 3s 6d upward; light, prime, 4s to ss; not prime, 2s upward; fat roosters,, heavy prime, 3s 3d to 4s 3d; light, 3s to 4s; fat hens, heavy, 3s 9d to 4s 6d; light, 2s 9d to 3s 6d; pullets, heavy, best, 4s to 6s 6d; smaller, 2s 6d upward; light, best. 4s to 6s 6d; smaller, 2s 6d upward; drakes, young prime, 3s to 4s; smaller, 2s 6d upward; old, 2s to 3s; ducks, young, 3s to 4s; old, 2s to 3s; geese, 4s 6d to 6s; turkey hens, 6s to 10s; gobblers 10s to 18s 6d; guinea fowls, 4s to ss.
