BIG ACCUMULATED DEFICIT. ECONOMIES IMPERATIVE. United Press Assr_—Elec Tel. Copyright. (Received July 9, 9.45 a.m.) ADELAIDE, July 9. The State Premier, Hon. L. L. Hill, made a statement'in the Assembly on the States financial situation. The total accumulated deficit for’the past four years amounted to £3,881,000. He .said expenditure would have to be curtailed and salaries and wages reduced. The House adjourned for a fortnight to allow the Government to give further consideration to the position.
