There was a keen demand for choice and fine quality, which improved in value. Extra choice ox sold to 37s per 1001 b, choice and <primc 34s to 3Gs, secondary and plain 31s to 335, prime young cow and heifer beef 31s to 345, secondary 27s to 30s. Heavy prime steers ranged from £l4 to £l4 10s (no extra heavies penned), lighter £l3 to £l3 7s Gd, light £ll 15s to £l2 17s Gd, small and unfinished £9 to £ll 10s, heavycross £9 to £lO 7s Gd (no extra heavies), lighter £7 15s to £8 15s, light cows, £6 10s to £7 10s, other cows £4 10s to £G ss. BEEF VALUES MAINTAINED. (Special to Times.) WESTFIELD, Thursday. Messrs. Dalgcly and Co., Ltd., report from Westfield this afternoon as follows: At our weekly fat stock sale to-day we offered ox beef in well up to usual numbers. The demand was steady and talc values again ruled. Go and heifer beef came forward in small numbers and sold under an improved demand at values very firm on late rates. Extra choice ox sold at 37s per 100 ip; choice and prime, 34s to 3Gs; secondary and plain, 30s to 335; prime young cow and heifer beef, 31s to 33s Gd; ordinary cow beef, 2is io 30s.
