TE UKU NEWS

Social Club. The Te Uku Social Club is filling a long-felt want in the district. The meet.ngs are held fortnightly in the Memorial Hail and are - well attended. Woman’s Institute. The monthly meeting of the Te Uku toranoh of the Women’s Institute was held In the Memorial Hall. There was a good attendance and two new members joined. Business was transacted and a pianoforte solo by Mrs Robinson and a song by Airs Bromich were much enjoyed, Mrs J. H. Deit gave a demonstration of rush basket making. A car competition was entered into enthusiastically and w r as won by Miss Cutfleld and Miss Ross, who tied for first place. A dainty afternoon tea was provided by Mesdames Dodd and Cogsvvoil.
