RUGBY FOOTBALL.

THE THIRD FOOTBALL TEST CURTAIN-RAISER DECIDED. i . HONOUR TO LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL. College football is in a class of its own, and it is the highest class. It always will be, that Rugby enthusiasts prefer to see a college match rather than an ordinary competition game, and the persons controlling the many Rugby bodies know this. These college matches have always been given prominence, but the highest honour of any college match has been bestowed on the Hamilton High School and the Mount Eden Grammar School’s annual fixture. This match will be staged as the chief curtain-raiser to the Third Rugby Test at Auckland on July 26. The matches between these two schools have always yielded close and exciting finishes, with the sparkling type of Rugby so dear to the enthusiasts very much in evidence. With the huge crowd (which is sure to assemble for the Test) looking on, the boys will probably play a game “out of the bag," and the spectators should be well keyed up for the Test after watching the pretty play of the school boys. Unfortunately the High School team this year is not as strong as in past years, but nevertheless there is some good material available, and they are likely to give a good account of themselves.
