PERSONAL.

The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, has agreed to accept nomination for the position of Grand Master of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand, which will become vacant in November through the expiry of the term of office of the present Grand Master, Mr J. J. Clark, of Dunedin.

Mr K. M. Graham, Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland, is visiting Hamilton.

Mr George Greig, senior business agent at the head office of the Railway Department, Wellington, has been appointed stationmaster at Dunedin in succession to Mr K. J. Chambers, who retired from the position in April.

Mr Henry Hayward and Mr Phil H. Hayward, of Auckland, are attending a conference of the Fullcr-Hayward Corporation, Ltd., at Wellington.

Messrs A. McMinn, H, R. Young, L. J. Patterson, H. W.' Griffiths, S. 11. Best, G. Freeman, E. Elliott (Auckland), A. Clarke (Wellington), W. 11. Fuller and C. Dunbar (Uranui) are at the Hamilton Hotel.

Mr E. J. Parr, chief inspector of secondary schools, will leave Wellington for Auckland on Wednesday to visit secondary schools of that district, and also in Taranaki, Wanganui and Waikato.

It was decided to send a letter of sympathy to the relatives of the late Mr John McKinnon at a meeting of the executive committee of the Waikato Winter Show Association this morning.

On the eve of leaving Te Aroha for Matamata Mr M. Loveridge was presented by the sports bodies with a handsome canteen of Sheffield cutlery. During his residence at Te Aroha Mr Loveridge identified himself with sport, and rendered signal service. ■
