MEET AT EUREKA
Although a high southerly, wind interfered with the scent, it was a fine clear, day for the occasion of the meet of the Waikato Hounds at the residence of Mr Albert Johns at Eureka on Saturday. There was a large and enthusiastic gathering of followers, and those who watched proceedings from motor cars were rewarded with a splendid view throughout. It was not long before a hare was put up, but a kill was not recorded until after a tw r o-hour run, in which the . properties of Mr Gole, Mr A. Johns and Mrs M. Murphy were crossed. The pack was called off at 3.30 o’clock, and the party returned to the homestead of Mrs A. Johns, where afternoon tea w r as served. Mr Wynn Brown, master of hounds, in returning thanks, referred to the excellent hunting ground in that end of the district, and thanked the many farmers present for their continued courtesy to the Hunt Club in permitting hounds to run over their properties.
