WANDERERS BEAT HUNTLY The following were the teams: — Wanderers. — Moorwood, Morgan, English, Gardiner, Smith, Schildt, Ward, Thompson, Rogers, Webster, Schonau. Huntly.—Thorne, E. Hall, J. Hall, Hambleton, H. Deakin, Hadley, Davis, A- Deakin, Liddle, A. Hall, D. Hail. In this game at Seddon Park it could be said that the game divided itself into four parts—Part 1, the first 20 minutes when the Wanderers forwards took control; part 2, the rest of the first half in favour of Huntly; part 3, Huntly have a glorious 20 minutes in the opening of the second half and obtain two goals in eight minutes through A. 'Deakin, then the Wanderers assume command and in a wonderful finish obtain the winning goal. The game was full of thrills and a splendid contest throughout. The Wanderers’ Goals Webster -was working hard,_ _ but twice missed from good positions. Half-way through the first half Schonau put across a nice centre which dropped in the goal-mouth Thorne saved but was unable to complete his clearance and Thompson rushed in to put the finishing touch, and the home team were a goal in the lead. A second success was not long in coming from Ward, who was playing a splendid game on the wing, received possession and withstanding a challenge from Hedley and J. However the splendid defence of Morgan and Moorwood kept them at bay and the final score was — Wanderers * Huntly 2 Mr E. R. Marsh was referee. PUKEMIRO V. HUNTLY THISTLE. 'The above teams met on the Pukemiro ground in good football weather, and on a ground in ideal condition for the game. . Pukemiro attacked strongly from the kick-off, and in the early stages of the first spell pierced Thistles’ defence on three occasions, Black, Robinson, and Adams being the scorers. 'During the remainder of the first spell Thistles’ defence improved, and, playing with greater combination, they narrowly missed scoring on occasions. The spell ended 3—o m Pukemiro’s favour. At the opening of the second spell Thistle attacked strongly, scoring two goals in quick time. With the score 3 o in Pukemiro’s favour, both teams infused great life into the game. 'Black again netted for Pukemiro, Thistle again scoring shortly after. Pukemiro had to defend strongly during the remainder of the spell to emerge victors by 4 goals to 3. Mr Lockie was referee-
