NAVAL TREATY.
APPROVED IN CANADA. MAINTENANCE OF POLICE FORCE. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received May 27, 9.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, May 26. Parliament to-day approved of the international treaty for the limitation and reduction of naval armaments. It will not be referred to the Senate for ratification. The Conservative Leader, Mr Bennett, uttered a warning that there must always be a “ police force ” on the seas, and that Canada should play her part in maintaining it.

The Republican leader Senator Watson, announced to-day that following conferences between Senate' and House-leaders the London NavalTreaty would be left for a special session of the Senate, which the President was prepared to call.
