GOLF.

CHAMPIONSHIPS AT PALMERSTON. WELLINGTON, Monday. The 1930 New Zealand golf championships will be held on the Manawatu Club’s links at Palmerston North. This decision was reached by the New Zealand Golf Council at a special meeting to-day. The only other application for the championship meeting was from Titirangi.

THE KAUROA CLUB. OPENING OF THE SEASON. Splendid weather favoured the opening of the Kauroa Golf Club. After a sumptuous lunch the president, Mr H. Wright, declared the links open, and welcomed the visitors from Raglan and Ruapuke. The lady president, Mrs G. Dent, played off the first ball. The rest of the day was given up to play, and a very enjoyable time was spent.
