JEWELLER’S SHOP ROBBED. PALMERSTON N„ Friday. Thomas Melrose (19) and Nelson Mayes (20), who had pleaded guilty to breaking and entering the premises of T. Ireton, Jeweller in Cuba Street, appeared before the Chief Justice in the Supreme Court for sentence. " • Melrose was admitted to probation for two years, special conditions being that he repay within three months half the damage to the window, also half the costs, and (keep away from hotels. Mayes was admitted to the Borstal institution for two years, With the suggestion that his case be considered before the usual period.
