HOMING PIGEONS.

HAMILTON CLUB’S EVENT. The Hamilton Homing Club flew their final race of the season on Saturday from Palmcrtson North, ISO miles.. Thirty-one birds from six loits competed and they were liberated in heavy weather by Mr Murphy, at 10 o’clock. The winning bird homed at 3.12 p.m., a very fair time considering the living conditions. Mr A. Sharpe provided the winner for the third race in succession, Mr W. G. Pountney being a close second, a position gained by him in the last four races. Results were:— A. Sharpe’s “ Lady Pincher," velocity 1021.9yds per min. 1 W. G. Pountney’s “ 3014,” velocity, 1021.7yds per min. 2 E. Sutton’s “ 2959 ” velocity 1019yds per min 3 C. Crabb, 959yd5.; C. Mayes 888yds.; J. Hopkinson, 880yds. The leading lofts for points average in the 11 young birds’ races were: — C. Crabb 60 J. E. Hopkinson 54 W. G. Pountney 32 A. Sharpe 3U
