ANZAC MEMORIAL.
SPECIAL SERVICES. PRESBYTERIANS’ TRIBUTE. There was a good attendance at the Anzac Memorial sendee hid at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church last evening. Special hymns were sung, Mrs G. Boyes giving a fine rendition of “I Know That My Dedeemer Giveth.” Another impressive item was the singing of “• What are These which are Arrayed in White Robes ” by the choir. The South Auckland Caledonian Pipe Band appeared at the service and piped their, way to and from the church. •Taking his text from-Exodus, 12-14, the Rev. 11. G. Gilbert in his sermon compared the deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt with the deliverance of the world from worse horrors by the sacrifices of those who gave their lives in the war. The world’s greatest hope lay not in the sacrifices of many but in the sacrifice of one. In the morning an inspiring Anzac Memorial Sendee was held at the Hamilton East Presbyterian Church, the preacher being .the Rev. J. liaslop.
