GIRL GUIDES.

FtoDln Patrol, Ist. Claudelands Company, writes. — At Horseshoe formation on Saturday, two recruits were enrolled as Guides, one service star was presented and three ambulance badges presented, two of the girls having renewed the badge. Captain then gave us a short talk on the wonderful “ game ’’ of Guiding, then we went to our Patrol corners, where we went over tenderfoot and second class work. Next followed Patrol Corner inspection and our corners look really very nice and cosy, as we have a number of new pictures, etc., for them. The Tenderfoot girls had competitions with Lieutenant while the others went with lain and made a traverse of half-a-mile which we hope to put into a map at our next meeting. Returning to the

hall we all commeneerd to learn thft “ Flambough Sword Dance,” which is| very pretty, but difficult to •learnj* Then we had “ Dashing White Ser geant ” and 11 Sweet,Kate,” two try dances we have learnt before.” Company formation and “ Taps ” brought our happy aftemon to a close.- V Owing to the Easter holidays we are V not having Guides next week, but as some of the Patrols have planned to go for hikes we hope there‘will be some news for the column.

The Saturday meeting must have been very interesting, with the enrolment and presentation of the badges ; and stars. WeYe looking forward to j hearing about the Easter hiking.— J Peter Pan.
