HAMILTON UNION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. ROUTINE BUSINESS. "The weekly meoling of the management committee of the Hamilton Rugby Union took place at the Union Rooms last evening, Mr. \V. H. Udy presiding. Rates at Rugby Park. The treasurer reported that he had interviewed the town clerk in reference to the clause in th Borough Council’s resolution in connection with the rates on Rugby Park, dealing with that portion of the agreement limiting the rate concession for as long as other local sporting societies had the free use of the ground and stated that a satisfactory agreement would probably be arrived at. Grounds at Claudelands. The A. and P. Society wrote granting the use of three grounds on the society's area at Claudelands at a rental of £25. It was decided to accept the grounds on the terms laid down, although they involved an increase in charges as compared with last year and to appoint a caretaker, as was done last year, to conserve the interests of the A. and P. Society. Advertising. The secretary reported that he and the treasurer had interviewed Mr. S. Tombs, of the Civic Theatre, in reference to his offer for advertising rights at Rugby Park, and subject to the site of the proposed advertising screen at the park being mutually agreed upon, the committee confirmed the arrangements made. Training Quarters at Rugby Park. The secretary reported that mainly owing to the excessive delay which had taken place in finalising the negotiations with the Domain Board in the matter of the site of the training shed, the amount of voluntary labour which the committee had confidently relied on had not materialised and it had been found necessary to let a contract for the erection of the training shed, and reported that this had been let to Mr. W. W. Scott at a price of £4O. Sole Selector. In accordance with the recommendation of the annual meeting Mr. N. Hamilton' was appointed sole selector for the Hamilton senior representatives. Players' Accident Insurance. Players are notified that the insurance against accident will operate from the beginning of the season, being compulsory on senior and junior players. It was also decided that upon prior application, players taking part in the games on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday, could insure as teams, against injury. Challenges. Challenges for the Peace and ,Binnie Cups were received from tiie Cambridge Union and for the Peace Cup from the Te Aroha Union. School Football. Permission to use all football grounds under the control of the Hamilton Union on all Wednesdays excepting those required for Waikato and other representaitve fixtures, was accorded to the Hamilton Primary Schools’ Rugby Union. Special Meeting. The secretary reminded those interested of the special meeting in the Winter Show Hall at 8 p.m. on Thursday the 17th. inst. Residents’ Protest. A letter signed by Messrs. Horace Toombs, John Sykes and B. M. Farr was read protesting against the building of the training shed at Rugby Park on the site at the corner of Mill and Hinemoa Streets. It was resolved to receive the letter. Fixtures for Easter. Saturday—Manukau Rovers Fourths v. Frankton Thirds, No. 1 Rugby Park, 1.30 p.m.; Manukau Rovers Seniors v. Frankton Seniors, No. 1, Rugby Park, 3 p.m. Monday—Charity match in aid of injured Te Kovvhai player; Auckland Marist Brothers’ Old Boys seniors v. Hamilton Marist Brothers’ Old Boys seniors, No. 1 Rugby Park, 2.45 p.m.
