The Autumn Meeting of the Waikato Racing Club was concluded at Te Rapa to-day In fine weather. There was a big attendance of the public and with good sized fields in the various events the quality of the sport was again of an entertaining standard. There were nineteen starters in the Ohinewai Maiden Handicap, the opening event of the day in which Glenison secured the verdict from Land Measure and Sister White. A small field contested the Raglan Handicap Hurdles, Glena Bay being the winner from Mountain Guide and Grand Arch. Fourteen two-year-olds lined up for the Eureka Handicap. Rafflight got the verdict over a good finish with Karangapai, Hampton Park being In third place. ! The leading item of the card to-day was the Te Rapa Handicap, in which Gemlight prevailed by half a length from Sir Russell, with Prince of Orange in third place. The big field of thirteen hacks lined up for the Huntly Handicap, Motere winning by a neck from Spring Abbey, with Biddy Comet third.

Royal Visitor was second in demand, with £4OO, Gay Duke third choice, with £2223 and Land Measure Jhe best supported of the rest with £207. The Held had not gone far before Glenison was the pilot, being attended along the back by Wee Prince, Land Measure, Queenstown, Kingsland and Mangu King. Half a mile from home the order of the leaders was Glenison, Wee Prince', Land Measure, Valorient, Queenstown' Miss Albyn, Mangu King and Sister White. Glenison showed the way into the straight to Land Measure, Wee Prince and Valorient. In the run to the judge Glenison and Land Measure had a keen set to, the former getting the verdict by half a head. Sister White was three lengths away in third place with Queenstown fourth. As the field came past the stand at the end of five furlongs Temperature was showing the way to The Lamb, with Grand Arch, Bright Land, Mountain Guide and Glena Bay as named. Grand Arch jumped to the front at the fence by the six furlong post where Temperature, Bright Land, The Lamb, Glena Bay and Mountain Guide were following as indicated. Grand Arch was well clear across the top and led Temperature to the last fence, where Glena Bay was handy, while Mountain Guide was moving up fast. Glena Bay won easily by three lengths from Mountain Guide, who was a length in front of Grand Arch. Bright Land was fourth with Temperature and The Lamb following. Time, 3.15. The public selected correctly in making the Tremetus —Rafflight bracket favourite, with £6113, from Karangapai £486, and Hampton Park £4724 as this was the order in which they finished for the money. Abbey Dream got the worst of the start. Rafflight jumped out clear and was followed in the early stages by Beau Irish, Karangapai, Tremetus and Laptown. At the end of two furlongs the order of the leaders was Rafflight, Beau Irish, Karangapai, Brilliant Lady and Sargon. Tradesman had charge into the straight, where Karangapai and Rafflight were handy with Tremetus, Brilliant Lady, Sargon and Hampton Park racing in that order of the others In a good finish Rafflight got the verdict by three quarters of a length from Karangapai, who was a similar dislance in front of Hampton Park. Laptown was fourth, with Tremetus, Holly Holm, Sargon, Tradesman, King March, Abbey Dream, Dust Up, Briiiiant Lady, Foot Rule and Beau Irish in that order. Time, 1.15 3-5. Crossing the top, Prince of Orange and Prince Val were the pilots, with Sir Russell, Value, Royal Doulton, Gemlight, Mervette and Mitlira as named. Prince of Orange and Prince Val were on terms round the home turn, at wjjich point Sir Russell, Value, Royal* Doulton, Mervette and Gemlight were following in that order. Over the concluding stages Gemlight finished very freely to win by half a length from Sir Russell, who beat Prince of Orange by a neck. Te Hoia was favourite with £7354 from Chromadyne £6233, Motere £5lB, and Spring Abbey £5223When the field settled down Chromadyne had charge, showing the way along the back to Haviland, Biddy Comet, Sweet Whisper, Manifest, I’m Alone, Spring Abbey, Te Hoia and Motere. Haviland led across the lop, with Ghromadync and Biddy Comet together and Manifest, Spring Abbey and I’m Alone following. Biddy Comet was first into the straight, followed toy Chromadyne, Haviland, Spring Abbey, Manifest, I’m Alone, Motere and Te Hoia. In a good finish between Motere and Spring Abbey the former got the verdict by a neck. Biddy Gomel, was two and a-half lengths away, third.
