ANTARCTIC PICTURES.
RECORD OF BYRD’S TRIP. The two Paramount news cameramen who accompanied Rear-Admiral Byrd’s Antarctic expedition were successful in obtaining 100,000 feet of film depicting the 'hardships and the triumphs of the explorers. These reels of film have been through more hazards than any before transported, as they had to come through the tropics, kept a year in temperatures far below zero, and are now returning through the tropics again. To protect them against the varying atmospheric conditions, the films were put into special zinc boxes, lined with insulating material, and soldered shut to ensure them against damage. The highlights of Ino pictorial document will be made into a feature picture, and Rear-Admiral Byrd, upon his arrival in New York, will provide a talking prologue. The production will be cornpieted by a musical score, sound effects and a dialogue explanation of the many highly dramatic events of the expedition.
