POPPY DAY.
GOOD RETURN AT GISBORNE. GISBORNE, Sunday. The annual Poppy Day appeal was held at Gisborne yesterday in unfavourable weather. Sales in the town totalled £205. The country returns to come are expected to bring the total to £340, against £250 last year. PALMERSTON RAISES £225. PALMERSTON N„ Sunday. The Poppy Day appeal at Palmerston North yesterday realised about £225.
