Ancient slones from several English cathedrals are to be - incorporated in (he new chancel for St. Paul’s Church, Auckland. Two have already been received, one being from St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, and the other from Canterbury Cathedral- Tiie Dean of Westminster Abbey and the Dean of York Minister have eacli promised a stone from these historic buildings, and a reply is being awaited from the Dean of Lichfield, to whom application was made in view of tiie association which Bishop Selwyn had with the see. One of Auckland's finest distancerunners, N. F. Cooper, was injured when he crashed into a pole on a newly-acquired motor-cycle. He was considerably shaken in the collision, but is reported to be recovering.
