“B” CLASS STATION. ACQUISITION TO HAMILTON. Advice has been received from the Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington, that the experimental station IFP, Hamilton, owned and operated by Mr G. S. Anchor, has been granted a “13” class broa/lcasting license. The new 7 call-sign will be IZli and the frequency 630 kilocycles (479.5 metres). The 10-wat transmitter in use at present has been testing out for the past few 7 months, mostly in the mornings, and reception has been reported from as far away as Wellington. Mr Anchor hopes to have a new 50watt transmitter incorporating all the latest improvements completed in a fortnight, and a regular plan will then ho inaugurated. A schedule of transmissions will appear shortly in Ibis paper.
