First clean off as much of the rust f j possible with emery paper; then mix one part of 'sulphuric acid with ten parts of water, and with it scrub the rusted parts, using a stiff brush. In making the soluLioa pour the acid slowly into the water, as if water is poured into concentrated sulphuric acid the mixture will splash violently. Be careful also to avoid splashing the acid on to the hands or clothes. After the scrubbing rinse the bath thoroughly with cold water and allow to dry. Rub quicklime over Hie tarnished parts to remove the last traces of acid and water and then apply two coats of paint and a finished coat- of enamel, allowing each coat to harden thoroughly. This treatment is very effective' and will prc\ ent rc- . currence of rust.
