THE PARNELL SEAT. LABOUR PARTY’S CANDIDATE. MR. T. BLOODWORTH CHOSEN.

AUCKLAND, Wednesday. It is understood, that the national executive of the Labour Party has selected Mr. T. Bloodworth as the official Labour candidate for the Parnell seat made vacant by the resignation of Mr. H. R. Jenkins. Mr. Bloodworth has had considerable experience in local body administration, but has only once previously endeavoured to enter the House of Representatives. That was in 1919, when, with Parnell again the scene of the contest, he was defeated by Mr. J. S. Dickson (Reform) who polled 5706 votes, against his 2287. No developments in regard to the selection of candidates by the other parties -were announced yesterday. Mr. H. R. Jenkins, who after resigning his seat as the United member for Parnell, has placed his candidature at the disposal of the Reform Party organisation, left Auckland yesterday for the Chateau, National Park. He stated that he would remain away from Auckland until the choice of the Reform candidate had been made,;

THE REFORM CANDIDATE. ■MR J. S. DICKSON’S DECISION. WILL ABIDE BY THE BALLOT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Mr J. S. Dickson announces his intention to submit himself to the Reform ballot for the Parnell candidate, and he will abide by the decision. THE OTAKI SEAT. LABOUR CANDIDATE. OTAKI, Tuesday. Mr James Thorn, of Wellington, has been chosen as the official Labour Party candidate for the Otaki seat.
