JOHNNY & JOAN
JQEAR EVERYONE, — Johnny led the way up the ladder and Joan and the pets followed. “How tired my legs are,” said Joan as she climbed up and up- “Bah! rviino aren’t a little bit tired,” Biddy the FVlacaw. Sf you look at the first picture, kiddies, you will see why Biddy didn’t get tired- —the naughty little bird perched herself on poor old Bone’s head and rode up the laddor. Presently Johnny saw daylight above him and shortly found that the passage ended in an old hollow tree stump. “Why! We are in r. wood,” he cried as he peered over the top. “So we arc,” said Biddy. tt was awfully nice to be out in the fresh air again, so after scrambling out of the hollow tree our four adventurers sallied forth into the wood. It was a beautiful wood, full of every kind of flowers. Joan saw some lovely big daffodils, but just as she was about to pull one, a very wonderful thing happened. You will see,.by the last two pictures, that those flowers were really fairies. Now I wonder what the Dcffodll Fairies have to tell—we shall hear next week? PETER PAN.
