The president of the federation, Mr William Green, says these figures show that the rising tide of unemployment has been checked, but the improvement is not yet general. Only 10 of the unions who had reported showed a decrease in unemployment. In 10 other cities unemployment was still increasing in March and in the remaining four there was no change. The greatest improvement is in the sea-faring trades. The unemployment ■of musicians lias increased.
