DARING THEFT.

WOMAN’S HANDBAG SNATCHED. INCIDENT AT AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, Friday. Two men who are believed to have been using a motor-car which had been stolen from a city street committed a daring theft in Victoria Avenue, Remuera, early on Wednesday evening. One of them snatched a handbag from the hand of a lady who was walking down the avenue a short distance from her home, while the other drove slowly up the road and picked him up. Although the owner of the hag, Miss J. E. McDonald, of 55, Victoria Avenue, screamed and immediately went for assistance, the men in the car were easily able to escape. The handbag contained only 35s in silver and a few personal articles.
