DESPERATE BANDITS.

United Press Assn.— Eler Tei.—Lopyrimt * '~~ jn EV/ ” YOII IIT Ma r c h"T 07~ Three desperate bandits at Eades, Colorado, killed two policemen and wounded four others, after a raid upon the State Bank of Mari ter, Kansas, where they stole £IOOO. A sheriff, Ilicknian, was killed when the posse attempted to stop the bandits’ motor car, which was speeding through the town to the western mountain passes.; r The robbers then tried to double back into Kansas by a circuitous route. Another sheriff, William Cole, and three officers attempted to stop them when they were crossing the highway at Cheyenne Wells, but the bandits killed Cole, wounded two of his men, captured their car and headed eastward. Eventually the three men were surrounded and 'surrendered to machinegun fire after having led the police a hard chase through three States for 27 hours. All were escaped prisoners previously convicted for murder. The police will demand the death penalty for their latest murders. <J3 A GERMAN GANG. SIX MONTHS OF TERRORISM. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. —Copyright, BERLIN, March 15. After six months of terrorism in the Hamm district of Westphalia, where 160 robberies with violence have occurred, the police have captured a gang of desperadoes. They were led by a woman aged GO, with her two sons as deputy leaders one of whom hanged himself in his cell after his arrest.
