BOXING CONTEST.
t SARRON AND DONOVAN. ANOTHER BOUT ARRANQED. TO MEET AT WELLINGTON. Although the unexpected happened in the featherweight boxing contest al, New Plymouth on Saturday, m which Tommy Donovan got the vetdict on a foul in the seventh round over pole Sarron 1 lie crowd saw six splendid rounds, somewhat marred by warnings, and a brimful seventh, in which "terrific hoops shook Donovan as lie had never been shaken before. Only Sarron’s accidental slip, a punch which landed in the region of Uonovan’s ear as Donovan was falling, gave a nominal victory' to Donovan. The pair have been matched to meet again under the auspices of the Wellington Association, it is understood • hat this contest will take place m I lie Kflbirnie Stadium, as that is said to he the only place in Wellington which would accommodate the great crowd expected to attend at such a popular bout. • , In the first six rounds of Saturday s contest there was little lo indicate that so sharp a turn would come, but it is evident, apart from the unfortunate incidents, that Sarron has no equal an New Zealand. It is feasible that Donovan’s extremely low crouch and sudden lifting contributed to the low punches Sarron may have delivered. Possibly special feeling was shown at the result because of the legal fiasco preceding Ihc match.
