TE AWAMUTU.

POWER BOARD MEET.

The usual monthly meeting of the Te Awamutu Eiectrio Power Board was held on Friday the chairman Mr J. T. Johnson, presiding. There were also present Messrs J. G. Sutherland, N. M. Lethbridge, A. L. Storey, W. Butterworth, G. G. Downes and S. G. Macky and D. McArthur, secretary manager.

Extra Reticulation

Messrs L. S. Riohards, W. G. Park, F. liastie and Geo. Hastie, settlers of Puahue, applied for an extension of the board’s lines in that district to supply their needs. The manager stated that it should be a payable proposition. The work was left in the hands of the engineer to proceed with as soon as convenient.

Trees

The question of the ever recurring trouble of trees interfering with the power lines was brought up for discussion through the electrical foreman’s report. The manager stated that this was a souroe of continual worry to the board. The trees would, in many cases be small when the line was put up, and now they were growing up and causing trouble in ail directions.

Service Interruption.

Mr E. W. Sage, apiarist, Ohaupo, wrote complaining of the power being cut off, this interfering with his work of honey extraction. It was important in his work to have reliable service, especially in the first three months of the year.

Left to the manager to deal with

Foreman’s House,

The chairman reported that the executive had decided on the plan of the proposed house for the electrical foreman, and asked the board to confirm the selection.

•This was done without comment, and tenders will now he called for the erection of it in the near future.

Finance.

The. revenue for the month of December was shown to be as follows: General lighting, healing, etc., £IOBB Is 7d; power, £1327 Os 2d; penalties and sundries, £45 8s 9d; streets, £52 15s 9d; making a total of £2511. 4s 3d, as against an amount of £2393 16s lid for the same period last year.. Accounts to the value of £3370 15s 7d were passed for payment. The Consumers’ Finance Fund is in a very healthy position with a credit balance *o'f £1275 18s 9d.

Tagless Balance-Sheet.

The balance-sheet for the previous year was received back from the audit department, without any tags, and on the motion of the chairman, it was decided to print it, at the same lime, congratulating the manager and staff on the clean sheet maintained by them.
