In a race from Gouldburn Island to Darwin to secure a doctor to combat a measles epidemic the mission lugger was caught in a cyclone, and the trip, which should have taken three days was prolonged to twelve. The crew was almost exhausted on its arrival at Darwin, and food supplies had given out. The Methodist missionaries on the island are fighting the epidemlo. Four natives have died.
