Mr Albert E. Lawson has been appointed Deputy Registrar of Marriages at Te Awamutu. Professor G. Gunderson, of Melbourne, who won the New Zealand chess championship at Wanganui, left Wellington yesterday for Sydney. Mr J. A. Brailsford, formerly of Hamilton, is visiting Palmerston North for the purpose of organising the W.E.A. classes. Captain G. Lomax-Stedman, N.Z.A.F., has been appointed pilot-instructor to Uie Wellington Aero Club, from nine applicants. ,
