His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral and Lady Alice FergUsson will be given a civic farewell at Christchurch on Thursday.
Mr. A. E. Lawson has been appointed deputy-registrar of births, marriages and deaths at Te Awamutu.
Mr R- a former holder of the world’s sculling title, was in Hamilton yesterday. He left for Wellington in the evening, en route to Christchurch.
Mr W. Stevens, engineer to the Rangiora Borough and formerly of Hamilton, was in town yesterday. He returned south last evening.
The King’s Medal with clasp “1929" for the champion shot of the New Zealand Forces has -been won by Staff Sergeant-Major J. H. Kearney, New Zealand Permanent Staff. Mr Kearney, who served overseas during the war, is a sub-area Sergeant Major at Napier.
