SYDNEY, Jan. 7: The huge score of 452 runs, not out, compiled by Don Bradman in the Sheffield Shield cricket match New South Wales v. Queensland, is still a topic of conversation. The young batsman has received a shoal of complimentary telegrams, including one from Ponsford, who hitherto had held the world’s record. Bradman hit 42 fours in his memorable innings. His side (Now South Wales) won the match by 685 runs. Queensland in their second innings only made 84 runs (Brew 26). Everett took six wickets for 23 and Chllvers two for 22.

The newspapers applaud Bradman’s feat. , The Evening News says that every English cricketer will gladly congratulate this talented youngster. The recovery of Australian batting dates from Bradman’s triumph in the third Test at Melbourne last year. His batting largely inspires Australians in the belief that they will recover the ashes. The Daily Mail says Bradman is the “boy wonder” of cricket. His gigantic innings, following previous scores, shows the consistency of his genius. English crowds are yearning to see him in action.
