CLAUDELANDS CLUB. There was a good allendance at Ulaudelands green on Saturday when ordinary draw matches were played. Seccombe, Madill, Wiltshire, Robson 19. The challenge match for the Matthews Ferns, between the holders (C. A. Speight, C. R,. Speight, Mathieson, Clevely) and the challengers (11. Young, Rolfe, Goodwin and Ireland) proved very interesting, Ireland lidding an advantage of B—l on Die sixth head. Clevely made progress and at Die lenlli head Die board showed 9 —Cj in Ireland’s favour.' In Die next four heads Clevely drew singles and the board read 10—9 in Clevely's favour at the fourteenth head. The 20th head placed Ireland in the lead, 16 — 15. in the 21st head Clevely drew Ihe shot, thus making the final score 16—16. The holders retain possession of the trophies.

Bell, ,jr., and W. Lambic was played on Saturday, tlie first-named winning two games in succession. Though defeated, Lambic played good howls, drawing very well, but liis opponent's greater experience proved the deciding factor. ' TE AWAMUTU v. CAMBRIDGE. The Te Awamutu Bowling Club was en fete on Saturday afternoon, when they were at home to a visit from the Cambridge Club who brought over five teams, veterans’ team and a first year players’ team. In the niterclub games Cambridge won on the aggregate by 9S to 90; but the home team won the veterans’ game and the first year players’ match. Mr R. Metcalfe, president, welcomed tlic visitors, and hoped they would have a good game. Mr James replied on behalf of the visitors. The sensation of the afternoon was when S. R. James scored an 8 on Iho 20th head against James North, and won by 1, after being six down with two heads to go. The following were the scores, Cambridge players being mentioned first; — Rev.
