' 1.--IKM 5 During his recent visit to England Dr. Hugh Douglas secured a handsome inscribed metal plate, which ho presented to the Hamilton Beautifying Society on his return to the Dominion. The plate, which is about a foot long, and six inches in width, is to be installed in the Memorial Park in the near future. The inscription reads as follows: — 1 “The kiss of the sun for pardon, The song of the birds for mirth. One is nearer God’s heart in a garden, Than anywhere else on earth.” At last night’s meeting of the Beautifying Society a vote of thanks to Dr. Douglas for his gift was passed.
Tottenham Magistrate: “What are you doing now?” Man: “I am working, but my wifa told me to give it up and go on toe dole."
