COMING OF AGE.

PARTY AT PATERANGI. Mr and Mrs F. Jackson gave a party In the Paterangl Hall in honour of their daughter, Franoes, who has gained her majority. There was a large gathering of relatives and friends from Hamilton, Otorohanga, Te Awamutu, Ohaupo and Halrini. Dancing was the main feature of the evening, interspersed with competitions and items. Comlo songs by Mr Jackson, recitations by Mr Crooker, dances by Miss B. Jackson, and two humorous dialogues, “Lady Godiva” and “Blossom’s Film Star," by Miss Jackson and Miss Kay, were very much appreciated. The lucky cap number was won by Mr Croclur, the parcel competition by Mr B. Elliott, and the Monto Carlo dance by Miss -Irwin and Mr A. Spiers. Music was supplied by Mr Rogcrson, of Hamilton. An elaborately decorated birthday cake, surrounded by- twenty-one kewpies, occupied the place of honour on the supper tables, which wero prettily decorated with Iceland poppies. After the health of the King had been honoured Mr B. Spiers proposed the toast of the guest of honour, and this was responded to by Mr F. Jackson. Mr G. Finch proposed the toast of

the host and hostess and again Mr Jackson replied. Miss Jackson was the recipient of many valuable and useful presents.
