WEDDING

SMITH —QUIN. The wedding took place ni St. Patrick’s Church, Te Awamutu, on Saturday, of Miss' Laura Hughes Quin, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Francis Quin, of Islabank, Pirongia Road, Te Awamutu, and Mr Henry Knowles Smith, of the Bank of New Zealand staff, Te Awamutu, and formerly of Pahiatua. The Rev. Father Bleakley, of Hamilton, performed the ceremony. Miss P. North played the wedding music and a special children’s choir sang witli Mrs Corboy, recently of Melbourne, as the vocal soloist. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory georgette fashioned on Victorian lines and embroidered with pink and white beads. An embroidered Brussels net veil was caught to the head at each side with clusters of orange blossom and fell to form a long train. She carried a bouquet of delphinium and pink roses. Miss Margaret M. Quin attended her sister as bridesmaid and wore a frock of pink georgette, with a three-tiered Hared skirt and picture hat to tone. Her bouquet was of pale pink and pale blue sweet peas and roses. Mr 11. Focke was best man, and little Noel Cox, of Hamilton, a cousin of the bride, was page. He wore a suit of forget-me-not blue taffeta. After the ceremony Nuptial Mass was celebrated, following which a reception was held by Mr and Mrs Quin in tho Parish Hall. The latter received in a navy -blue and grey embroidered ensemble suite of georgette with a Bangkok hat to match. Among the guests were:—Mrs F. McGovern, Remuera (grandmother of the bride), Mrs J. P.
