SEVERE EARTHQUAKE.

TREMORS A Y ROTORUA. ROTORUA, Saturday. A slight earthquake tremor was felt at 2.20 p.m. at. Waimangu and the Tarawera lakeside to-day. Three sharp shocks were felt in Rotorua at about 5.15 p.m. One shock was fairly severe. No damage resulted. FELT AT CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. A fairly pronounced earthquake was recorded at the Christchurch observatory at 3.44 a.m. yesterday. The records show that the duration was just under a minute. Many people were wakened, but so far as is known no damage was done. MINOR SHOCK AT WELLINGTON WELLINGTON, Sunday. An earthquake of comparatively short duration was felt throughout the city and suburbs about 3.45 a.m. yesterday. It was of minor intensity only.
