The Duke of York, speaking at the National Playing Fields’ Association, said four years' work had resulted in the establishment of 43 county branches. Four hundred and twenty-seven schemes, involving a capital expenditure of £1,500,000, had been formulated. Money gifts, including £200,000 from the Carnegie Trustees, had. been received to help in the provision of playing fields.
