THE TOURIST BUSINESS.
PUBLICITY CAMPAIGN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Saturday. An announcement that he is at present engaged on the preliminary organisation for pursuing an intensive publicity campaign was made by Hon. I>. A. dc la Perrelle, Minister of internal Affairs, this morning. The Minister said considerable enquiries have been made by prospective American visitors, whose intentions it is to come here sightseeing and Ashing. ••I am having an early contercncc with all departmental heads in regard to a vigorous campaign in Australia and througnout New Zealand," said the Minister. "We have already started in the Commonwealth. I look upon publicity as an important industry. Last year we received millions of foreign capital from tourists, and we hope for a considerably greater sum during the next twelve months." The Minister expressed the hope that with the Melbourne-Bluff steamer service Australian tourists would arrive at the latter place and tour throughout the Dominion. The Minister later left for Wanganui, and afterwards will go to New Plymouth.
