There was a good attendance at the , Claudelands greens on Saturday and keen games were in progress when • rain fell and play, had to cease. Praclieally all last season's members have been on the rinks during the past week and the following new members have been elected:—Messrs R. H. Page, B. J. Crosbie, J. N. Simpson, F. H. Mead, .1. Madill, F. Marshall, E. V. Quick, W. Course, E. T. Robinson, A. W. Webber, and W. J. Cummins. Summer play is now In full swing on:the Cambridge greens, and everything shows promise of the season being one of the most successful In the history of the club. There are several new members, and it Is hoped that the membership roll will reach 100. The greens are in good condition, and No. 2 was well filled last Saturday. The club was represented by a team each at Te Awamutu, To Aroha, and Frankton at their official openings. TE AWAMUTU CLUB. THE OFFICIAL OPENING. . The season at Te Awamutu was opened on Saturday afternoon in'perfect weather. A great number of visitors were present and the two greens were taxed to the utmost. The president, Mr -R. Metcalfe, welcomed the visitors, and reminded •those present of the club’s one-day full ring tournament on Labour Day. Mr. R. Pilkington also made a brief address, and gave bowlers as their 'slogan, "Sociability, Hospitality ' and Good Fellowship.” The following games ' were then played after Mrs. Metcalfe had thrown the jack and rolled up the first bowl: E.
