Canadian officials have received with interest an intimation in Washington despatches that Mr MacDonald" is to visit Canada to discuss the question of the Government demilitarising the naval base at Halifax. The point is emphasised in Ottawa lhat the British Government, is without authority. Canada's military.and naval activities and all her naval proper!v, once under British jurisdiction," have now’ passed into Canada's hands.
