Sergeant Dudley asked who the little girl was, and was told it was “Little Joyce." He expressed doubt as to whether “Little Joyce” was really a girl. The whole party returned to Mittagong, where it was found that “Joyce” was the boy they sought. The sequel was the arrest of his mother and two meat
