BOY DRESSED AS GIRL. j SWIFT ACTION. All the elements of a movie thriller were contained in a police chase at Bowral, New South Wales, which ended with the discovery of a boy disguised as a girl. It is alleged that two men and a woman attempted to abduct a boy j from the Mittagong Farm Homes, and | that the attempt was the sequel to a ! recent court case. i Mittagong police received a message | that the boy was missing. By what j means he was smuggled out of the | farm, which is a home chiefly for unI controllable boys, who are closely ! guarded, is not known. In a motor cycle and side-car Sergeant Dudley and Constable Payne speeded after a lorry. After a thrilling chase they caught the lorry near Bargo. A woman was driving, and had what seemed a little girl beside her. Two men and three small boys were also in the vehicle. Sergeant Dudley asked who the little girl was, and was told it was “Little Joyce." He expressed doubt as to whether “Little Joyce” was really a girl. The whole party returned to Mittagong, where it was found that “Joyce” was the boy they sought. The sequel was the arrest of his mother and two meat
