TE AWAMUTU CLUB. the annual meeting. At the annual meeting of the Te Awamutu Cricket Club the president, Mr C. W. Rlckit occupied the chair, and a dozen or more members were present. The annual report was read and adopted. It stated inter alia, after thanking the honorary olllcers, that in the competition the club played 12 matches, winning G, drawing 2 and losing 4, being fourth in the competition with 14 points. At the commencement of tlie season, it had been decided to enter two teams in the competition, hut this unfortunately fell through, and therefore there were some players who did not play and drifted off to other forms of recreation. A special meeting of the Waipa Cricket Association recently, decided to inaugurate two-day matches in the competition, with all matches to be played In Albert Park, Te Awamutu. if this is adopted, players will have to individually contribute towards the cost of laying down additional pitches. The finances of the club arc not in too healthy a position owing to the great expense of providing the outfit. It is hoped to make up the leeway _this year. The present liabilities arc £7 Is 3d. Against this were overdue subscriptions, amounting to £G 16s Gd. In discussing the question of affiliating with the Waipa Cricket Association, it was pointed out the hours suggested for play were unworkable for this club. Members thought the country clubs might have compromised, as it only meant each club playing Tc Awamutu once in eight weeks. it was decided to suggest to the association that hours for Te Awamutu Club matches be, Albert Park, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the country 1.45 p.m. lo 5.4 5 p.m., as a condition to Te Awamutu’s affiliation. If the Waipa Association will not agree to these hours, matches can be arranged with Arapuni, Hamilton and Otorohanga when convenient.

Officers were elected as follows: — Patron, Mr C. G. Downes; president, Mr F. E. Lomb; vice-presidents, Messrs C. W. RJckit, H. de L. Peake, M. W. Muir, R. G. Hodges, R. A. Coyne, K. G. Rickit, D. Bockett and G. M. Blave; hon. secretary, Mr 11. T. Ilaselden (re-elected) ; hon. treasurer, Mr It. Lord (re-elected); committee, Messrs Fraser, K. Smith, M. Barnett and J. Philp; club captain, Mr 11. K. Smith; vice-captain, Mr J. Philp; delegates to Waipa Cricket Association, Messrs J. Philp and M. Barnett. Mr Rickit’s bat for the most improved player had been awarded to Mr It. Lord. Attention was also drawn to the necessity for the juniors to be regular in their' attendance at the net practices. A hearty vote of thanks to Mr C. W. Itickit for the great work he had done for the club in the last two years was carried by acclamation.
